This would be considered a effective consumer oriented sales promotional item. Reason why is because it is made available for any customer to get. This booklet is placed out in the open to draw in new and old customers to increase the amount of sales during this time span that the booklet runs. The customer can keep getting this booklet for as long as the sale runs.

This would be considered an ineffective sonsumer oriented sales promotion. This coupon is only given out to customers that shop at shopko on a regulair basis. It is not made available to the public. Other companies like Kohls, or Petco do similar couponing or sales strictly to loyal customers. This type of coupon is ment to get the customer to come in an get their $10 off their purchase but is ment to get the customer in the door to hopefully spend more money to help increse the amout of sales. The company is not aiming at bringing in new customers with this promotion.

This picture I had taken off of a websit I found with examples of trade oriented sales. This would be consided an effective trade oriented sales promotion. Reason as to why whould be because of the size, its located out in the open for all to see. The customer is able to get all the supplys they would need on sale under this products label for tacos. There is multiple purchases available here for the customer and it is all driven to make one item.

This would be considered an ineffective trade oriented promotion. Yes it does come with a mail in coupon to help you save money but it wasnt advertised anywhere. I had to go find the product on the shelf where there was no type of stand for it and it just happened to come with a deal. It was not advertised well and had I not been looking for this specific product I would never had known about the special coupon.

For this weeks assignment I choose to use the direct advertising piece from the Voice since I throw out all my other junk mail the second I receive it. It does capture my attention since it has a range of colors on it with various font sizes. However it doesnt reach me as a consumer since I dont see a need for the news to be paid for when I can get it on google or yahoo for free. The mail piece does mention how often it is updated and what a low cost it is but it doesnt give me a need to go through them. Overall though it does a nice job of showing what they are about and I like the examples on the right side of their paper.
